There are a few different travel options to and from the island of Porto Santo. Many different charters fly to the island both direct from Funchal in Maderia and direct from Europe. If you fly to Madeira and don’t want to fly to the island you may enjoy a two hour twenty minutes trip on the Ferry leaving from Funchal.
It is really easy to get to this lovely island, there are several flights a day from Funchal airport in Madeira and even direct flights from Lisbon on certain days. If travelling from Madeira the flight from Funchal is only about 15 Minutes and is reasonably priced at around €125.00 (Approx £80.00) for a return flight.
Travelling from the UK you have options for both direct flights to Porto Santo or flights to Maderia (Funchal) and then can get a connecting flight or the Porto Santo Ferry to the island.
For the more adventurous Heliatlantis offers helicopter flights from Funchal to Porto Santo that take just 10 minutes, (up to five people).

Below are a few details on some of the airlines operating to Port Santo.
SATA Airline
There is actually Two airlines in one – SATA International ( operates the international flights between the Azores and 14 international cities in Europe and North America) and SATA Air Azores ( flying prop aircraft between the islands of the Azores).
Sata is owned by the provincial Government and with a excellent history of conservation growth, SATA is a safe, efficient and politely dynamic European success story, with lots of warmth and charm on their flights to the Azores Islands.
SATA operate twice a week from London Gatwick and Manchester during the summer months and on a weekly basis in the winter using modern A320 aircraft.
TAP – Portuguese National Airline
TAP, Portugals national airline, offers up to 12 flights a day (dependant on the season) between Funchal in Madeira and Porto Santo, sometimes using local flight carriers (use the link on the right hand side to find flights).
Flying time is a mere 15 minutes.
Porto Santo Ferry- PS Line
The Ferry operates six times a week in the winter months and more often in summer, normally leaving Funchal in Madeira in the mornings, remains in Porto Santo during the day and returns in the evenings.
The ferry trip is around two hours and twenty minutes to Porto Santo, giving passengers time to admire the beautiful views of both the Island of Madeira as the ferry leaves and on its arrival to the Porto Santo island.
There are many activities to keep you occupied on your trip with a restaurant, a couple of different bars, a cinema, tobacconist, merchandise shop, hair salon, childrens room, games room as well as sun decks.
There are different prices depending on the season you travel as well as a separate pricing if you have a vehicle. Children Under the age five travel free, children between five and eleven years old pay 50% of the adult fare . Click the season you are travelling to get updated prices:
